Lukas Ammann is a Swiss actor who appeared mainly in German and Swiss films and television shows. He was born in Basel, Switzerland. He began his film career in the 1939 Swiss movie Wachtmeister Studer. He continued to work steadily for over 60 years; his most famous roles is the German detective series Graf Yoster, where he played the main part of the same name between 1967-1977. In 2005 he played Abi Goldstein in the Swiss short film Herr Goldstein. In 2013, he worked again, aged 101, with the young director Ronnie Vogt on the movie "Reunion Solitaire". After two failed marriages, in 1959 he married German soprano Liselotte Ebnet who died in 2009. He lives in Munich.
