Richard Fred Luecken is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for two seasons. He pitched in 19 games for the Kansas City Royals in 1989, 36 games for the Atlanta Braves in 1990, and one game for the Toronto Blue Jays in 1990. He was drafted out of Texas A&M in 1983. He was traded along with Outfielder Danny Tartabull and Outfielder Mike Kingery to the Royals in exchange for Pitcher Scott Bankhead and Pitcher Steve Shields. Luecken was placed on waivers by the Atlanta Braves in September 1990 after an alcohol-fueled confrontation with then-new Braves manager Bobby Cox about his lack of playing time. Luecken would only play one more game in Major League Baseball.
