Description
Joseph Mathias Kovacs is an American track and field athlete who competes in the shot put and has a personal record of 22.03 meters outdoors and 21.46 meters indoors.
Before attending Penn State, he excelled in high school and won PIAA titles in the discus and the shot put during senior season. The winning shot put mark of 64 ft 10.75 in is the PIAA class AA State record.
On June 25, 2014 Joe Kovacs won the USATF National Championships with a personal best of 72' 3.5", the top throw in the world at that time.
