Description
Vit?lijs Astafjevs is a former Latvian football midfielder. Currently he is the manager of FK Jelgava in the Latvian Higher League and the assistant manager of Latvia national football team.
In his playing career, he won eight Latvian championships with Skonto Riga. He also played abroad for clubs in Austria, England and Russia. Astafjevs currently holds the European record for the most international matches played, with 167 caps for Latvia. He also captained the country at Euro 2004.
