Description
Dietmar Danner is a retired German footballer.
Danner won three German championships and one German cup title, as well as two UEFA Cup titles with Borussia M�nchengladbach, with whom he spent the majority of his playing career.
He earned six caps for the German national football team from 1973 to 1976. He missed out on being part of the 1974 World Cup winning West German squad but was included in the for the UEFA Euro 1976.
Danner was a part of "Die Fohlen" during their golden period playing alongside players like G�nter Netzer, Rainer Bonhof, Uli Stielike, Bertie Vogts, Allan Simonsen and Jupp Heynckes. Danner was an all around player in an adventurous, attacking, side. His career at the club and international level was cut short by an injury in 1976. Danner never regained full fitness and only played 49 more league games, including his final 19 with Schalke 04.
