Description
Martin Thomas Janzen is a former pitcher in Major League Baseball. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Yankees in 1991, Janzen spent parts of two seasons in the major leagues. He is currently the pitching coach for the Lancaster Barnstormers.
While still a minor leaguer, Janzen and two other minor league pitchers were traded in 1995 to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for David Cone. Janzen made his major league debut with the Blue Jays the following season, pitching in a total of 27 major league games between 1996 and 1997. At the end of the 1997 season, Janzen was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks from the Blue Jays in the expansion draft, but he never again appeared in a major league game.
