James D. Tucker is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'7" forward from Duquesne University, Tucker played three seasons in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Syracuse Nationals. He averaged 4.1 points per game in his career and won a league championship in 1955. Tucker and teammate Earl Lloyd were the first two African Americans to play on an NBA championship team. On February 20, 1955, Tucker, in his rookie year, recorded the fastest triple-double in NBA history, achieving the mark in just 17 minutes. He finished the game with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists in a 104-84 win over the New York Knicks.
