Christopher Abbott is an American actor best known for such films and television series as Girls, Martha Marcy May Marlene and Hello I Must Be Going. He was raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, and attended Norwalk Community College. He moved to New York City in 2006. On April 4, 2013 Abbott announced his departure from the HBO series Girls. It was widely speculated that he cited differences with creator Lena Dunham and the overall direction that the show was taking as the reason for leaving. Abbott later clarified his position and revealed that it was the fact that he couldn't relate to the role that pushed him to leave.
