In 1999 Urbani ended his career, pitching for the Italian baseball team of the Rimini Pirates as an Italian-American player. He led the team to a 7 games Championship Series win against Nettuno : in that season Urbani threw the fifth perfect game in the history of the Italian baseball, and the only one in the 40 years history of the Rimini team. In that summer, Urbani played as a starting pitcher for the Italian national team in the pre-Olympic European tournament, beating France on a two hit, 14 strike out effort.
