Description
Mark McGuigan is a Scottish professional footballer, who is currently playing for Albion Rovers. He plays as a forward.
McGuigan caught the eye of Partick Thistle manager Jackie McNamara during a closed-doors friendly between Partick Thistle and a Scottish Universities side. McGuigan scored for the Scottish Universities during the match, and was subsequently invited on trial. He won a deal with Thistle in March 2012, and scored his first goal in a 3?1 victory away to Ayr United. He scored his second goal against Falkirk on 28 April 2012, the penultimate game of the season.
McGuigan struggled to cement a place in the Partick starting eleven at the start of the 2012/13 season, and was sent on loan to Albion Rovers, in order to gain experience. His loan was subsequently extended to January 2014. He was released by Partick Thistle on 22 January 2014 and was signed by Albion Rovers days later.
