Ashley Jackson. Is an English field hockey player. He was a member of the British squad that finished ninth at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens then appeared again in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and finishing 4th in London's 2012 Olympics. Jackson played in the England squad that competed in the 2014 Commonwealth Games and won Bronze. England beat New Zealand on a shout out. Jackson scored the decisive penalty.
The midfielder/striker made his debut in 2007 for the English senior side at the age of 19. He currently wears the number 7 shirt for both England and Great Britain and sometimes strikes Penalty Corners for the National Team. Jackson played for HGC in the Dutch league for a number of years, alongside England/GB team mate Barry Middleton. He now plays outdoor hockey for East Grinstead Hockey Club in England. He continues to play indoors for East Grinstead as they defend their National Indoor League and Championship titles, and has also helped them to obtain the European Indoor title for the 2009/10 season. He schooled at Sutton Valence Kent.
He was named FIH Young Player of the year 2009 and is the first English player to receive this accolade.
