Description
Kai Simonsen is a helicopter reporter for WNBC in New York City. Simonsen joined the station in 2012 after a long stint at WNYW. Since his debut in 1996, Simonsen has reported many high-profile events, including the death of John F. Kennedy, Jr., and the September 11, 2001, attacks in New York City. In 2009, WNBC and WNYW entered into a helicopter sharing agreement which put Simonsen back on the airwaves at the NBC station where he began his career. In 2012, WNBC and WNYW cancelled their sharing agreement and Simonsen went to work for WNBC full time where he can now be seen weekdays 6am-7am.
