Description
Valerie Helene Mendes is an English novelist, children's writer and poet. Valerie is best known for her teenage fiction novels, Girl in the Attic which was chosen as one of the best debut novels of 2002, and Lost and Found, which was Shortlisted for the Lancashire and Portsmouth Children's Book of the Year Award in 2004. Valerie is also the mother of well known director and producer, Sam Mendes.
