Laura Harper is an American professional women's basketball assistant coach player American University.She played professionally with the San Antonio Stars of the Women's National Basketball Association. Harper was the 10th pick in the 2009 WNBA draft. She is no longer playing professionally because of continuing pain from previous injury. Harper's father, Haviland Harper played at George Washington University in the 1970s and currently coaches at Central High School in Philadelphia, and is the head of the Mathematics department. Haviland Harper's great-uncle, David "Big Dave" DeJernett, was a pioneering Afro-American basketball star at both pro and amateur levels in the Midwest.
