Andrew Gordon, grew up in the Halifax suburb of Porter's Lake, Nova Scotia, and played his junior hockey with the Notre Dame Hounds, a Tier-II Junior A school in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). He decided to or the US college route following his second year, leaving to play at St. Cloud State of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) In 2006-07, Gordon was the third leading college scorer across the nation. In June of 2004, the Washington Capitals chose him with their seventh-round NHL Entry Draft selection, and Gordon decided after his junior year of college to go the professional route, signing a three-year, two-way, entry-level contract with Washington on April 3, 2007. For the 2007-2008 season, Gordon played right wing for the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears, the Washington Capitals affiliate. In February of 2008, he was named RBK/AHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 10. Gordon ended the '08 season in Hershey with 50 points in 60 games. [More at Wikipedia]
