Description
Jarrod J. Skalde is a Canadian retired ice hockey centre who was the head coach of the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL from the 2009-2010 season until the 2012-2013 season.
Skalde was drafted 26th overall by New Jersey Devils in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft and started his National Hockey League career with the Devils in 1990. He would also play for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Calgary Flames, San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Thrashers, and Philadelphia Flyers, but spent most of his career bouncing around the minor leagues. He went on to play a total of 115 regular season games, scoring 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points and collecting 62 penalty minutes. He left the NHL after the 2002 season and played in Switzerland's Nationalliga A for Lausanne, before spending three seasons in the American Hockey League. He then moved to Sweden's Elitserien to play for Leksands IF. In 2006, he played in the Asia League Ice Hockey, playing for the Oji Ice Hockey Team. In 2007, he returned to North America and signed with the Bloomington Prairie Thunder of the International Hockey League.under a player/associate coach role.
