Bruce Lowell Braley is an American politician and attorney who has served as the U.S. Representative for Iowa's 1st congressional district since 2007. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district lies in northeastern Iowa and includes Davenport, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Marshalltown, and Dubuque. On February 7, 2013, Braley said that he would be running for the Democratic nomination for the 2014 United States Senate election in Iowa, that would open given the intended retirement of Tom Harkin.
