Horacio Carbonari is a former Argentine footballer who played as a defender.
Born in Santa Teresa, a town in the southern end of Santa Fe Province, Carbonari began his career at Rosario Central. His debut at the first division was in 1993. In the Argentinian club, he won the Copa Conmebol in 1995. In that edition of the internacional cup, he scored 4 goals.
He was signed by Derby County in the summer of 1998 for �3million by former Derby manager Jim Smith where he quickly became a fans favourite. He went on to play ninety times for the club, scoring nine and winning praise from the fans after scoring twice against rivals Nottingham Forest. However in 2002 while John Gregory was manager he became out-of-favour at the club and had a short loan spell at Coventry City in 2002, before being released by Derby.
He went back to Rosario Central later that year and helped the club qualify for the Copa Libertadores. When an injury ended his season he was released on a free. Carbonari decided to retire at the end of 2004?05 season.
At the beginning 2006?07 season, he was appointed the general manager of Rosario Central. [More at Wikipedia]
