Daniel Paul "Danny" Butterfield is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender and midfielder for League Two side Exeter City. He has previously played for Grimsby Town, Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletic, Southampton, Bolton Wanderers and Carlisle United. He is primarily utilised as a right back. However, Butterfield originally started out as a central midfielder for Palace and has played on the right of midfield as well. He also had spells for Palace as a striker whilst first choice strikers were absent.
